Rusted Rails And Weeds: WNY&P To Driftwood

Western New York And Pennsylvania Running On RARELY USED Track! A few months back I received an “earworm” that the USDOT inspection train would be running the Buffalo Line from Buffalo to Lock Haven. This section includes the out of service portion between Port Allegany and Driftwood, PA, which a lot of us thought we would never see another movement over… at least for a long period of time. The Buffalo And Pittsburgh was in charge of bringing the train into Salamanca for interchange to the WNYP. The OL1-25 crew then pulled the train to their yard in St. Bonaventure for the night. On August 26th, the OL1-26 crew would once again be tasked with the handling of the FRA train, this time all the way to the NS interchange at Driftwood, PA. The train is seen heading south on the out of rervice railroad, which includes rusted rails, weeds, and lots of dirt. Me and a small group of others chased this rare move all the way to their destination before we hit the road for NC. The video includes historical information at almost every video location, historical photos, video footage from busier days of the railroad, drone shots, steep grades, and more. Sit back and grab a snack as you watch this rare train running on even rarer mileage!
