We are going to shred a 12 bar solo in D, but we aren't just going to do the solo, we are going to look at each technique used in the solo and break them down in detail. By learning each technique individually you will be able to apply these ideas to your own soloing. This combined with transposition means a lot of power in your fingers, with the ability to shred wicked solos with some of Clapton's signature techniques. The technique explored in this lessons are double stops with 1/4 bends, also known as micro bends or blues curls, triplets in the 4th position of the scale, incorporating the flat 5th and also using slides in our triplets, power triplets in shape 2 that Clapton likes a lot and the Dorian mode, which is some color Clapton adds to his blues to get outside of the minor pentatonic and the blues scale. After each technique is explored individually we will run through a full 12 bar solo that incorporates everything we worked on, once without a backing track and then again with a backing track to get you playing and time and to help you use the chord changes to enhance the the melody in your solo.
