Zhan Zhuang to Calm the Mind | Medical Qigong Standing Meditation
This session offers a traditional Zhan Zhuang standing practice drawn from Medical Qigong and internal Tai Chi principles. It leads the practitioner through a sequence of key points along the body, from the crown to the bubbling wells, establishing vertical integrity and deepening internal stillness. Each point aligns with known meridian pathways (jingluo) and provides a structural reference for internal release through Song. As attention (Yi) is guided through the body’s vertical line, tension gives way to grounded stillness without effort or mental control. Drawing on observations of natural flow, particularly the behavior of waterfalls, the practice reinforces principles of dispersion, cohesion, and upward/downward movement. These dynamics are not imagined but perceived through refined internal listening—a hallmark of effective standing training. This session supports the development of: – Internal release through Song – Awareness of upper, middle, and lower Dantian – Vertical alignment along the central channel – Stillness without collapse or rigidity – Use of Yi to establish and maintain internal reference points – Calmness of mind through whole-body awareness Appropriate for practitioners of Tai Chi, Medical Qigong, and internal martial arts, this training builds the foundation for deeper form work, partner connection, and self-regulation through structure and stillness. 📚 Want to go deeper?
