What Happened to Janet Couture Stayed Hidden for 50 Years

In the early morning hours of October 13, 1973, 21-year-old Janet Couture told her boyfriend she thought someone might be inside her apartment in East Hartford, Connecticut. Hours later, she was found dead in her bedroom. For decades, her case remained unsolved  with no clear suspect, no definitive DNA match, and more questions than answers. Until now. In this video, Ashley Flowers breaks down the case of Janet Couture, a decades-old investigation that was finally solved more than 50 years later, and the shocking way the truth came to light as she explores what happened inside Janet’s apartment on Cannon Road in East Hartford, why early investigators believed the crime was targeted, not random, the history of a key suspect, George Legere, and why he was on law enforcement’s radar for years, and how advances in DNA and a completely unexpected prison tip helped move the case forward. Sometimes the answers are there just waiting for the right moment, the right technology, or the right person to speak up.
