Groundwater Matters for Cooperation and in Multilateral Processes

IAH is hosting a series of online webinars in cooperation with UNESCO-IHP and the World Bank, WMO and IAEA, coordinators of the UN-Water Experts Group on Groundwater. The webinars aim to contribute to the 2026 UN Water Conference by addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with the development, management, and governance of groundwater worldwide. These three webinars, which examine the role of groundwater within the context of the six interactive dialogues, will highlight why groundwater matters at the 2026 United Nations Water Conference. In this second webinar, we will demonstrate how cooperation is essential for sustainable management of groundwater, especially as water demand rises, and to ensure equitable access and long-term water security for all.
