Groundwater Matters for People and Planet
IAH is hosting a series of online webinars in cooperation with UNESCO-IHP and the World Bank, WMO and IAEA, coordinators of the UN-Water Experts Group on Groundwater. The webinars aim to contribute to the 2026 UN Water Conference by addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with the development, management, and governance of groundwater worldwide. These three webinars, which examine the role of groundwater within the context of the six interactive dialogues, will highlight why groundwater matters at the 2026 United Nations Water Conference. In this first webinar, co-hosted by Rural Water Supply Network, we will provide a clear understanding of the role that groundwater plays in everyday life and its interactions with people and the planet.
