Why do we demand “RAWNESS” only from black women with coily natural hair?

Why are Black women with natural hair often expected to present themselves in a “raw” or stripped down way? Why do people question makeup, laid edges, or the desire to grow long natural hair? And why are these conversations framed as if Black women expressing beauty must always prove authenticity? I talk about the pressure to appear natural enough, the criticism around edge control and styling, and the idea that wanting long healthy hair is somehow a Eurocentric goal.
