LG 55UH650T Has No Power? Girl Finds Rusty Trace and Burnt MOSFETs - Fixed!
This LG 55UH650T TV was completely dead - no power at all. When I opened it, I found rust, a broken trace, and burnt MOSFETs. Watch me reuse spare parts from an old board to bring this TV back to life. Saved over $500! The problem: This LG 55-inch TV (model 55UH650T) had no power. Completely dead. The owner thought it was time to buy a new TV . What I found: When I opened the TV and inspected the power board, I discovered multiple issues: 🔹 Rust and corrosion on the power board 🔹 A broken trace (the copper connection between two points on the board) 🔹 This broken trace caused the voltage boost circuit to malfunction 🔹 The malfunction destroyed 2 power MOSFETs and the AC fuse Why this happened: The rust created resistance on the trace, which eventually broke. Without that connection, the circuit sent wrong signals, burning out the MOSFETs and blowing the fuse . The fix: 🔹 I searched my spare parts collection and found an old board with good MOSFETs 🔹 Removed the burnt MOSFETs from the LG power board 🔹 Soldered the working MOSFETs from the donor board 🔹 Replaced the blown AC fuse with a spare 🔹 Used a small piece of wire to reconnect the broken trace (bypassing the rust) 🔹 Cleaned the rusted area to prevent future problems The result: The TV powered on perfectly! No more dead power board, no more blown components. The LG 55UH650T works like new again! ✨ How much did this cost? Almost nothing! I reused spare parts from an old board. A new power board would cost $80-150. A new LG 55" TV would cost $500-700. This repair saved hundreds of dollars!
