Dancing with the moonlit knight: Ghouls’N Ghosts | Segaiden 93
The Genesis gets its first sequel to an NES hit! Well, kind of. Capcom's home port of its arcade hit Ghosts’N Goblins was an early release for NES that marked a few key milestones—perhaps most notably in its use of a memory management chip that expanded the console's capabilities beyond the basic hardware. Now, the Genesis gets a port of that game's arcade hit sequel, Ghouls’N Ghosts, and in some ways it's nearly as significant as the NES game. Maybe even more! It's also hard. Like, stupid hard. But that's pretty much a given with this series, yeah? Most key footage here was captured from MiSTer FPGA (thanks misteraddons.com) via RGB and upscaled with RetroTink 4K. Like that's necessary. Whatever! Suck it down and deal with this fidelity.
