One-touch passes keep the game fast - you can't support your teammate if you stop when the ball leaves your foot. Off Ball Movement - After every pass, open your hip, check your shoulder, and create a new angle. Your teammates can't find you if you're standing still. Timing the Underlap Run - Slow down to pull the defender with you, then accelerate onto the ball. The change of speed beats the defender - not your top speed. The Hook Pass - Head down, shoulders down, whip it around the corner. The angle and weight of the pass sets your teammate up to finish. Competing at the top level of collegiate soccer taught Coach Stevi Parker that combination play breaks down even the best individual defenders. This drill gives you the movement, timing, and technique to combine with teammates and create real scoring chances.
