Eight years ago, I arrived in Thailand as a simple traveler. I never imagined that I would meet Tui right here and that one day I would find myself experiencing one of the most important moments of my life in her village, nestled in the Isan countryside, near the border with Laos. In this video, I take you inside an authentic traditional Thai wedding, a ceremony that is still celebrated today, especially in rural villages. It has no legal value and does not replace a civil marriage, but for many families, it represents the most important moment of the union between two people. You will discover the meaning of the dowry (Sin Sod), the ritual of the white thread (Baci Su Kwan), the involvement of the entire community, and a way of life that tourists rarely have the opportunity to experience.
