Boston's Sadistic Crime King: James "Whitey" Bulger | The Irish-American Mafia Documentary

It's September, 1981. Italian gangster Stephen Flemmi lures his girlfriend Deborah Davis to a small home in South Boston, where his boss James "Whitey" Bulger is secretly waiting in the dark. The two had officially decided to separate, but Flemmi had other plans. Months earlier at a birthday party, Flemmi had irrationally blurted out confidential business in front of Davis after she protested him leaving for another meeting. She knew too much now, and Bulger had made the call: she had to go. Flemmi brings her inside, and while the two stand in the darkness, Bulger emerges. Flemmi struggles to do the deed, freezing up as his boss steps forward. Bulger grabs Davis by the throat, and her boyfriend watches as his boss drops to the floor and strangles a woman half his age to death. Bulger then got up, went to the upper level of the home, and rested on a bed while Flemmi cleaned up the scene. This was another violent story in the turbulent gangland of Boston. Bulger and Flemmi were members of the Irish Mafia, a criminal family known as the Winter Hill Gang. Davis was just another one of their several victims over the years, and she wouldn't be the last.
