1934 Going Bye-Bye! - Laurel & Hardy
Plot Summary: In Going Bye-Bye!, Stan and Ollie testify against a dangerous criminal named “Butch” Long, leading to his conviction and a death threat. To avoid his revenge, they plan to leave town — but when they answer a newspaper ad for a roommate to share expenses, they end up tangled in a disastrous situation with a tough, no-nonsense woman and her massive ex-wrestler boyfriend. When Butch escapes from jail and comes looking for revenge, the boys get a very painful comeuppance — especially Ollie! Notable Facts: One of Laurel and Hardy’s darker yet hilarious comedies, mixing threat and slapstick. Includes a memorable gag where Ollie gets tied into a human pretzel by the escaped convict. Shows their great chemistry in a more plot-driven short than their earlier slapstick-heavy entries.
