1929 They Go Boom! - Laurel & Hardy

Plot Summary: In They Go Boom!, Ollie is bedridden with a cold, and Stan tries to help him rest — but things go hilariously wrong in their boarding house. As Stan's well-meaning attempts to comfort his sick friend spiral out of control, the duo causes chaos involving a hot water bottle, medicine, and eventually a dramatic room explosion. It’s pure Laurel and Hardy mayhem, all within the confines of one increasingly destroyed bedroom. Notable Facts: Made during the transition from silent films to talkies — while it’s mostly silent, it features synchronized sound and sound effects. One of their earliest “sickbed” themed comedies, which they would return to in future films. The climactic bed-blowing-up gag became a trademark of their over-the-top endings.
