MALINDI FAMILY ACCUSES SECURITY OFFICERS OF THEFT, ARSON
A family in Malindi is demanding an independent investigation after accusing security officers of conducting a night raid on their disputed beachfront property, allegedly stealing equipment worth nearly Sh5 million and setting stores ablaze. Twahir Salim Soud, administrator of the estate of the late Sir Ali bin Salim Soud, claims armed officers arrived in government vehicles, arrested him and several workers, confiscated their mobile phones, and detained them without explanation. He alleges that while they were in custody, valuable property, including solar panels, batteries, tents, and life jackets, was loaded onto a pickup truck and taken away.
