Protecting the Garden from Severe Heat with Clipping Back, Irrigation and Moving Sensitive Plants

Summer gardening isn't easy! It tests our patience as gardeners because we're dealing with a lot of severe weather (in coastal NC we're in a severe drought), we have bug issues, we have pest issues like rabbits and deer to deal with and more! Plus, we're HOT ourselves! Today my summer gardening tasks continue though. I have to clip back some dying plants that are putting up with the heat & drought conditions, I have to protect some plants from the afternoon sun, and get things hooked up to drip irrigation that hadn't been hooked up before. We do what we have to do to protect our gardens that we've put so much time and energy into creating!
