The second local gourmet food in Okayama Prefecture is the specialty shrimp rice! I went to Ebimeshiya Mannari, which came up after searching for famous restaurants online beforehand (^^) I was surprised by its shiny black appearance, but the shrimp and rice fried in a special black sauce made from a blend of spices and other ingredients overflowed with sweetness and richness the more I chewed it, and it was super delicious! It's no wonder it's a highly rated restaurant on the internet! I'd like to eat it again when I go to Okayama. At the Seto Ohashi Observatory, a spot where you can see a spectacular view of the Seto Ohashi Bridge, Tashiura Park, I was surprised to see the bridge up close and it was very impressive. Highly recommended! The Shimotsui Electric Railway Line once connected Shimotsui Station in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, and Chayamachi Station in Chayamachi, Tsukubo District (now Kurashiki City), but due to a decrease in passenger numbers, the sections between Kojima Station and Chayamachi Station, and between Shimotsui Station and Kojima Station, were discontinued. The preserved carriages have been maintained since 2002 by the Shimotsui Minato Electric Railway Preservation Society, which was formed by local volunteers, with the cooperation of the Shimotsui Electric Railway. It seems that you cannot enter the fenced area to see the carriages up close except on activity days, but on the day of my visit, repair work was being carried out, so I was lucky to be able to see them up close. The exterior of the carriages was maintained by the preservation society and looked the same as when they were in service. I think it is thanks to these steady efforts that we can still see many of the carriages in their original form, almost 30 years later. There was a "small railway museum" nearby, so I went in. The inside has a very nostalgic atmosphere and it was interesting to see all the rails, bus seats and so on!
