Panerai's Primary Opponent

Why blow money on a Panerai when Batiscafo has staked their claim with the most inventive (and affordable) bronze watches on the market? And because some guys will be curious, a batiscafo (or bathyscaphe) is a free-diving, self-propelled submersible designed for extreme deep-sea exploration. It consists of a heavy, pressurized crew sphere suspended beneath a large, gasoline-filled flotation tank. The term was coined by Auguste Piccard from the Greek for "deep boat," because it allows researchers to reach the ocean floor independently of a surface ship.
