Years Post-Stroke: The Reality of Recovery & Why I Still Choose Hope

2 Years Post-Stroke: The Reality of Recovery & Why I Still Choose Hope In this video, I’m opening up about my two-year stroke anniversary. Surviving a stroke that left half of my brain damaged has meant facing massive long-lasting effects—from physical mobility challenges to mental and cognitive function hurdles. The road to recovery isn't a straight line; it is filled with intense ups and downs that I still navigate every single day. But if there is one thing this journey has taught me, it’s the undeniable power of a positive mindset. Even on the darkest days, when the disabilities feel heavy, I’ve learned that finding the smallest things to keep you positive is what keeps you moving forward. It’s about choosing to look at the brighter side of life rather than letting despair take over. 💡 The Signs to Look For: B.E.F.A.S.T. A massive part of my mission now is spreading awareness so others can get help before it's too late. Please memorize the B.E.F.A.S.T. acronym—it saves lives: B - Balance: Sudden loss of balance or coordination. E - Eyes: Sudden vision changes or trouble seeing. F - Face: One side of the face drooping or numb. A - Arms: Arm weakness or numbness (does one arm drift downward?). S - Speech: Slurred speech or difficulty speaking/understanding. T - Time: Time to call emergency services immediately if you see any of these signs. Thank you all so much for being a part of my recovery community. If you or a loved one are going through a tough recovery, please know you are not alone.
