Ep. 9: Travelling with your instrument - Violin and Viola ✈️🎻
Dear Violin and Viola players, This video is all about how to travel and face the check-in with your instrument. How to make sure that you avoid as good as possible to check it in, risking that your instrument is dry-freezing in the belly of the aircraft, beside that it will be thrown from the ground staff of the airport. This video is not meant to fool the airlines and all the nice people who work at the airports. It is meant to solve a horror scenario which we, in this trade and music world, are going through every time we travel by airplane. The best problem solving solutions are: 1) I recommend to call your airline to get specific information regarding measurements and weight restrictions to carry on baggage since instruments are almost always at their borderline. 2) Arrive 2 hours before the flight 3) Treat all ground and airline staff member with respect 4) Stay calm 5) Be polite, sincere and friendly with everyone 6) Don't check your instrument in with all the strings up and sign that you are responsible for it! Hope I didn't forget anything. If so leave me a comment here below.
