Ep. 16: Adjusting the Sound
I love to make instruments. This passion last already since I am 12 years old. The more I make, the more ideas and thing to be done appear in front of me. And the very first sound check of a newborn instrument is the final result of all my past, of all my new ideas included in the process of making the best. Sound adjustment is a fundamental part in my entire making. It is the moment where you sit down listen and think; I try to understand, and I love to find solutions. Many colleagues of mine here in Cremona ask to stop by to adjust their newborn instruments. So I believe many out there might have interest to see what I am actually doing in that very moment when the bow for the very first time strikes the strings. For us, violinmakers, it is extremely difficult to remain objective. Since we love our work, and we identify ourselves with our work, we love any result. Yes, sound adjusting touches also Psychology. But now I am drifting off….. Watch and see how I face this process. Have fun and enjoy by learning with me. See you soon again when we will use our new video and audio equipment. We will leave the link how to get that. ER My Live Q&A transmissions on YouTube are only for my patrons!!!!!
