Jim Yakabuski Mentor Masterclass

2025 marks Jim’s 44th year as a live audio engineer. He has mixed FOH for artists including No Doubt, Gwen Stefani, Shania Twain, Journey, Van Halen, and many others. In 2013, he received the Parnelli Award for FOH Mixer of the Year for his work with Journey and is a proud AES member based in Nashville. Since 2021, Jim has been with Solotech as Director of Audio Projects and now serves as Brand Influencer and Recruitment Representative. His experience also spans corporate gigs with clients like Starbucks, Microsoft, Nike, the NBA, and NFL—including a career highlight mixing at the 2020 Super Bowl. Jim has taught live audio at Belmont University, written for Live Sound International and Church Sound Magazine, and served as Live Audio Director at NewSpring Church, where he trained staff and volunteers. Mixing live audio has been a dream come true for Jim, and mentoring the next generation remains his greatest passion.
