ROCK-OLA 468 : CHUCK BERRY : YOU NEVER CAN TELL

This song got a new lease of life after it was featured in an episode of the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. in 2015. It was a "tribute" to the scene in the 1994 film "Pulp Fiction." Since then the 45rpm record has become much in demand. My copy was delivered yesterday. I've had this jukebox and the Rock-Ola 443 for over fifteen years. Apart from servicing the 468 just needed a new graphic as the original, as they do, had gone blue. I managed to buy a "new old stock" copy from a jukebox parts supplier for £5. I also took out the carousel motor a couple of years ago as it had started to run slow and would often trip the mechanical circuit. It just needed the commutator resurfacing using fine emery paper and a "lube job." I re-made the graphic of the 443 (that had also gone blue) with coloured acetate and obtained a new title card insert from Victory Glass. I like to think given their age, they are mechanically and cosmetically in excellent condition. The chrome on the 443 is nigh perfect. There are two metal strips that could do with buffing to remove the scratches, but I'm not bothered as I think they add character. The "camera shake" I blame on my Lumix camera and its far too many settings. It happens every time you move it as it constantly refocuses. If you hold it still it doesn't happen. The removable "box table" that sits over the Budweiser fridge is for the occasional use, of my ultra-sonic record cleaner. Both my jukeboxes have to live in our summerhouse at the bottom of our garden as there's no room for them in our small semi. But I can get a "nostalgia fix," in our front room, from either of these.    • ROCK-OLA 507 TRI-VUE JUKEBOX WALL BOX : EV...
