Guided Meditation: Come Back to the Self You Never Left
In this guided meditation, Rupert shows us how finding our self is not about seeking for something extraordinary, special or mystical – it’s about simply recognising what we are already. Rupert says: ‘The recognition of our essential nature is mostly described in negative terms – it’s not a thought, feeling, perception, sensation, activity or relationship; it cannot be seen, heard or tasted; it’s not located in the body or in the world – so we imagine that our essential self must be mysterious or extraordinary. ‘But our self is even more intimate, obvious, simple and familiar to us than the space in a room. And to search for our self is like travelling the world in search of space. The idea of searching for something, or indeed doing anything, subsides in this understanding. So, just come back to the self that you never left.’ *This video is from one of Rupert’s weekly webinars, 14 August 2024.
