Climbed and Splitboarded : Mt Shasta 6.5 hours to go 2 miles

Mt Shasta Looms above the nearby land like a giant castle. As legend has it the castle has tunnels that connect the mountain to the home of enlightened giants. There is a lot of mysterious stories and tales that surround the Mt Shasta and I can see why. I tried to climb this mountain 17 years ago only to have my boots freeze at Helen Lake that refused me a trip to the summit. This time it would be different. Im older & wiser now and I know the recipe for success lies in the preparation. I trained hard in Hawaii for three months leading up to out climb. Running 5 days a week and lifting weights three of those days. As it got closer I switched to 45 lb rucks up and down the hill. Im also bringing along a secret ingredient. My good friend James Barkman who had climbed mountains all over the world. Including mountains much taller than this one! Ive been wanting to have my friends on my youtube. This way I might have a chance to show the world how rad and amazing they are. You should know who James is. Incredibly talented behind a camera lens and obviously skilled in so many other ways including splitboaring. Which he convinced me to try on this trip. Ive spend a lot of time snowboarding but never splitboarding. They made the decent so much fun. Thank you James Barkman. You are a Gem of a human and have an amazing view of this world. Back to Mt Shasta. I left the mountain feeling more enlightened and my life will be better moving forward with this new perspective the mountain gave me. Enjoy our video.
