We’re back with another Mom & Daughter Reacts, and this time we’re watching one of Tessa’s (Mama’s Geeky) absolute favorite romantic movies of all time — The Notebook. Tessa has loved this film for years, so getting to finally share it with Lorie was incredibly special. Watching it together made the emotional journey hit even harder. While Lorie admittedly was not a fan of Noah at first (that cocky confidence does not make the best first impression!), she slowly came around — and by the end, she agreed he truly was the right choice for Allie. This movie is such a beautiful, heartbreaking love story about fate, second chances, and the kind of love that lasts a lifetime. From the sweeping romance to the devastating final scenes, we were both full-on crying by the end. We had so many emotional reactions — from Noah asking Allie out in the most unforgettable way, to their magical summer romance, the passionate rain kiss scene, and the emotional letter reveal that changes everything. And of course, the heartbreaking yet beautiful ending that had us completely sobbing as their love story comes full circle. The Notebook features an incredible cast, including Ryan Gosling (La La Land, Drive) as Noah Calhoun, Rachel McAdams (Mean Girls, The Time Traveler’s Wife) as Allie Hamilton, James Garner (Maverick, Murphy’s Romance) as Duke, and Gena Rowlands (A Woman Under the Influence, Gloria) as the older Allie.
