Overview of the ICOM IC-271A 2 Meter Transceiver with some nice options and mods
Here I present an overview of the durable ICOM IC-271A. This is a 2 Meter All Mode Transceiver from the 1980's. However, it does not do AM. So you can't really call it 'ALL MODE'. It does cover FM, USB, LSB, and CW. It puts out 25 watts. There was a 100 watt version available called the IC-271H. In the video, I go over all of the functions of the radio. Options installed include the built in power supply, and internal pre-amplifier. Mods include a parallel BNC antenna jack, two 13.8 VDV power jacks, a relay jack for an external amplifier, and a unique looking battery back up unit for the RAM memory.
