Love is in the air! Elephant Seal mating season at Drakes Beach

2-24-24 Well, as most of the elephant seal pups have been weaned, the testosterone of the bulls is in full swing as mating season begins before the females and males head back out into the sea. There was a lot of action on the beach, as the movers and shakers tried to pass on their genes for the next generation. Females have a delayed implantation process. While they mate in February into March, the implantation may not take place for a few months, depending on how they fare once back out at sea.
