Kilimanjaro, 5.895m - Lemosho Route - Expedition 2022 Doku

Exhausted but happy. Africa's highest mountain, a long-held dream come true. 5,895 meters. It actually happened, and I still can't quite believe it. Seven long days – from the African rainforest, across volcanic plateaus and moorlands, to the alpine summit with its snow and ice – I am incredibly grateful to my fantastic partner, the DAV Summit Club, for the superb organization on site, and for the opportunity to realize this project. Of all the many ascent options, I chose the Lemosho Route – although it's a bit longer than the other routes, it has the highest success rate for reaching the summit due to the long and favorable climate. Moreover, it's one of the most scenic routes and less crowded on the first few stages. I prepared extensively for the entire expedition with the Summit Club's high-altitude mountaineering and mountaineering courses in the "From Hiking to Mountaineering" program.
