Tying Olive Nymphs: "Juicy" Olive/Baetis Nymph

Quick start beginner fly tying lessons: https://doublebadgers.kartra.com/page... Here is a fantastic nymph pattern to tie when imitating olive nymphs of many species. The classic example would be the Baetis mayfly nymphs just getting ready to hatch. At that time they become very vulnerable to being swept away and trout eat them in huge numbers. Grayling and char love them too. Just vary the hook and bead size to suit your local hatches at different times of year. This is a great pattern for all forms of tight line nymphing (Euro nymphing while using a French leader or Mono-rig). It also works great while high sticking, fishing classic upstream nymph styles - as well as the duo or Hopper Dropper methods. We have long used Fish On fly tying materials and the guys there did us a solid by refreshing some of out tired/battered packs of materials - so thank you to Andy and JT for helping us to illustrate these patterns with quality, up to date materials.
