Klinkhammer Fly Tying & Fishing: How to Tie a Klink that Fishes Upright & Floats Brilliantly

Free Tying 101 Tuition: https://doublebadgers.kartra.com/page... Hans van Klinken's Klinkhåmer Special - often known as the Klinkhammer or just "klink" - is a great pattern for pulling deep-lying fish up to the surface. It's also one of the most popular choices for fishing the duo (or hopper dropper) style to present small to medium sized bead head nymphs (Full article here for "12+1" Best Euronymphing fly patterns: https://fishingdiscoveries.com/best-e... ). It can become frustrating if the fly fails to float well - particularly because properly dressed klinks are often used in fast, broken water. Similarly, it is equally annoying when the fly frequently lands or fishes on its side. Here John Pearson shows his design, fly tying and fishing tips to get the best floatability in a klinkhammer that also lands and fishes reliably upright. As well as presenting the nymph effectively, the fly is a great fish-catcher in its own right for both trout and grayling. The shape of the hook, wing-post material and dessicant choices all help to get the best performance out of this pattern.
