How To Install Hyundai / Kia Piston Rings & Connecting Rods - (2.4 GDI) - Short Block Rebuild Part 2

Continuing with the Hyundai / Kia 2.4 short block rebuild video series, I'll demonstrate how to assemble new connecting rods to new pistons followed by the installation of new oil and compression rings. Since the engine block was bored opened by .5mm or .020" (Video of overview:    • How to Short Block Rebuild - Hyundai / Kia...   ), we purchased and will install oversized pistons and rings. You could perhaps reuse your old connecting rods but may run the risk of having slightly bent rods caused by heat or hydro lock. Also, if the rod bearing contact surfaces are scored or worn, the rod cannot be reused and must be replaced. Aftermarket replacement pistons, connecting rods and rings are available from various vendors on Amazon and Ebay. I've had good luck with vendors with high volume sales with good customer feedback.
