René is a community leader from an Indigenous village in Atacama, and Wara is his eldest daughter. They sing, talk, and reflect on their connection to the land and life. He was born in the community of Susques, Jujuy province, a remote area 3,600 meters above sea level. He is the father of 10 children and grandfather of 9 grandchildren. He participated in the recovery of the Atacama people's identity and community land titles. She is a singer, violinist, and actress. Like her father, she is from Susques. At age 8, she moved to the city of San Salvador de Jujuy to study art, dreaming of returning to her community. She works as an environmental activist and against racism toward children and young people in communities in northern Argentina. She is a student from the Atacama people.
