Inside Yugoslavia's Luxurious Private Train
Hello from Belgrade, Serbia! đˇđ¸ Today, we're not exploring the city, but Yugoslavia's famous Tito's Blue Train, also known as Plavi Voz. This luxury train was built for the President of Yugoslavia, Josip Broz Tito. It was essentially the president's residence on wheels. It hosted many important world leaders of that era, including Queen Elizabeth II, Haile Selassie, Leonid Brezhnev, Reza Pahlavi, and many others. Tito traveled more than 600,000 km (370,000 miles) with this train, not only across former Yugoslavia but also throughout Europe. Even after his death, this luxury train carried his coffin from Ljubljana to Belgrade. The train was not open to the public until 2004, when it became one of the attractions at the TopÄider hangar on the outskirts of Belgrade. The train itself is very well preserved and maintained. Let's explore the most luxurious train of former Yugoslavia! Opening hours: 9:00 AM â 2:00 PM Entrance fee: 300 RSD (âŹ2.56 / $2.91). Tickets available on site.
