2026-06-27: DFS Hitze, Schweiß & Diesel

Saturday, June 27th. Oppressive heat with highs exceeding 35 degrees Celsius – but that didn't deter the Franconian Switzerland Steam Railway and its guests! A very special train awaited them in Ebermannstadt: pulled by the historic diesel locomotive V36 235, and coupled to classic passenger cars, temporary passenger carriages, and a real eye-catcher – a passenger car in the red livery of the 1950s. Fortunately, the party was able to board in the shaded carriage shed before the train departed the station around 11:00 AM. I've captured some beautiful scenes along the route for you: We see the train being assembled in Ebermannstadt, passing through Gasseldorf, and the stunning crossing of the Wiesent River directly below the Neideck ruins. My video ends with the train's arrival in Muggendorf – the party then continued on to Behringersmühle for lunch, making a few more stops along the way.
