MedSNAIL in Spain: Ohanes grape from Almería (Andalusia)
The Ohanes grape is one of the flagship products of the Andarax Valley (Almería), MedSNAIL pilot area in Andalusia. This product is being promoted within the framework of the project through its inclusion in the Slow Food Ark of Taste. Its protection is particularly necessary as it represents a traditional crop in the region which, although it has constituted the basis of the provincial economy for decades, has suffered a significant decline in recent years which has brought it to the brink of disappearance. We interview Sebastián, from Finca Los Frailes, an organic farmer who still conserves a few hectares dedicated to Ohanes grapes.
