How to make a Hollywood waistband trouser (Grown-on / whole-top waistband) | Trouser features

This is a guide to sewing a tailored trouser with a Hollywood waistband. Also called the grown-on or whole-top waistband. Different to the method I normally use to make trousers the waistband is not a separate piece of cloth, rather the trouser legs continue to the top of where the waistband would be and folds over to finish the top edge. The way I do this is making it with a sewn-in waistband canvas - Ban-roll - and then hand sew the lining in. You should be able to interpret how to make a machined lining though. The two main distinctions are how the fly is made and how the waistband canvas is added and then lined.
