𝗣𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗛𝗨𝗡𝗧: Naked Man Taken Into Custody

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Saturday, July 25, 2026 — Santa Monica police officers responded to an incident in the Main Street area Saturday afternoon that culminated in a naked man being taken into custody following a search of the neighborhood. According to multiple witnesses at the scene, a naked man had been seen running through the area unclothed before officers began searching nearby parking lots and surrounding streets. Multiple officers searched the area with their firearms drawn as they looked for the individual. A witness interviewed by Santa Monica Closeup said they were standing outside enjoying a smoothie when they suddenly saw the man running through the area unclothed. "I was right here minding my business, drinking my smoothie, and all of a sudden I looked over and saw a guy running," the witness said. "I thought, 'Wait a minute—he's naked.'" The witness also expressed a personal belief that the man may have been under the influence of drugs. However, Santa Monica Closeup has not independently confirmed that observation, and police have not released any information regarding the man's condition. Officers later detained a man believed to be connected to the incident. Following the detention, several witnesses were transported back to the scene in patrol vehicles, where they appeared to identify the individual before he was taken into custody. As of Saturday evening, the reason for the arrest had not been officially released, and the specific charges, if any, were not immediately available.
