I Made a Plus Size Edwardian Corset!
I made a plus size Edwardian corset using Truly Victorian Pattern TVE01 Project Edwardian continues! This time I'm making an Edwardian Corset circa 1903. This is the underwear that is the immediate precursor to the memorable Titanic era silhouette. Once again, I'm using a Truly Victorian pattern from their Edwardian collection. They're very size inclusive, and it's nice to be able to find a plus size Edwardian corset pattern! To be on the safe side, I chose the medium hip, high bust, and the largest size available in the package. I may have over-estimated the bust. I started off following the directions in the package, and then - because I have previous corset-making experience - ripped back my seams and started again. The end result isn't perfect, but I think it looks wonderful. The best part? Sewing a familiar garment helped me become more acquainted with my new (to me) sewing machine. That's a skill that will pay off down the line. Special thanks to The Husbeast for lacing assistance and additional camera operation (and last-minute hair styling for his Resident Ragamuffin).
