Text from the original brochure from 1982: The M 15A studio magnetic tape recorder (short for "magnetophon 15A") is a compact device. The drive chassis contains amplifiers for mono, stereo, or two-track recording for picture-synchronized operation with pilot tone or time code. Two tape speed pairings are available for all models: 38 and 19 cm/s or 76 and 38 cm/s. Special versions include devices for pre-listening (record transfer) or for quadraphonic recording (1/2-inch magnetic tape). The M 15A is a modern, professional studio magnetic tape recorder with increased ease of use, incorporating the latest technology. It is equipped with compact amplifiers equipped with function-dependent modulation switches. The M 15A is designed for the highest quality sound recording and playback in radio and television, the record industry, and all types of recording studios.
