GORGEOUS July Garden Tour! So Many Blooms in My Tennessee Home Garden!

My gardens are exploding with gorgeous color and flowers in full bloom across our entire property! I garden in East Tennessee Zone 7b and have only been gardening for 4 years, but my gardens look much more mature and full than you would think or expect from such a new garden. When I started designing the landscape of our home and property there was zero landscaping to work with. I designed it all from scratch and have learned many gardening lessons along the way. I’ve learned the difference between a weed and a tree to start! But in all seriousness I now know when it’s a desired seedling coming up from the ground vs an obnoxious weed. I’ve learned the difference between an annual, perennial, shrub and tree. I’ve learned how to use different color foliage in my garden to create interest even when flowers aren’t in bloom. I’ve learned to add evergreens throughout the landscape so things don’t look flat and boring in the winter months. I’ve learned what style gardens I like. What styles I don’t like. I’ve learned i need more drifts and repetition in my garden than I realized. Chaos gardening just isn’t for me and my cottage garden is adapting to a more finished purposeful design than what I first started with. I’ve learned what plants make the biggest impact in the garden, what blooms when in my zone. What plants are strongest against predators and disease and how to welcome the pollinators into my garden. I have fallen in love with gardening and I want my garden to be an inspiration to other gardeners out there whether you have been gardening for 50 years or are just beginning with your first plant and first pot or flower bed. Gardening is an artform and a wonderful creative outlet. It is my peace in the midst of a chaotic world. A place I can retreat to when burdens are heavy. A place I can get exercise and sweat it out! lol! I love sharing the beauty of the outdoors with my children and they have found a love for plants and flowers they never had before too. As we walk through the garden together I will show you my shade flower bed, the newly renovated garden house and containers, the new flower bed addition against the goat field, the cottage garden with all it whimsy and meandering paths, the limelight hydrangea hedge. The landscaping in front of the house, the formal garden and courtyard, the greenhouse and hillside flower beds on the terraced garden, the backyard garden project, the new flower bed on the side yard that is in progress and the front shade garden with my assortment of beautiful hydrangeas. Not only are my hydrangeas looking gorgeous, but the rose of Sharon is in bloom, the vinca is looking amazing, the petunias, sweet allysum, verbena, roses, daisies, delphinium, Agastache, coneflower and Cleome are all blooming and looking lovely. Not to mention all the evergreen interest in the garden along with all the colorful foliage of my Weigela, Spirea, Ninebark, Forever Goldy Arborvitaes, Touch of Gold Compact Holly, lambs ear, junipers and sweet potatoe vines.
