Pay a visit to Desert National Park, which is roughly 15 km away from where you are likely to be staying in Sam, or for the naturally inclined, just 50 km from Jaisalmer. The Great Indian Bustard may be the main attraction here but thanks to its falling numbers, that sighting is not guaranteed. What is guaranteed is that you will spot a host of other birds and animals which you may not see at many other places in India. It’s the habitat here that draws these creatures to this place.
