EP.6 WHY WE NEED TO ADVOCATE FOR OURSELVES

Family, Advocating for reparations is about ensuring justice, equity, and tangible repair for the systemic injustices faced by Black communities. When we use our voices to push for meaningful change, we take ownership of our history and demand recognition for the lasting impacts of slavery, segregation, and economic exclusion. Speaking up for reparations means fighting for policies that address generational wealth disparities, access to education, and economic empowerment. It’s about securing a future where Black communities thrive, not just survive. Change doesn’t happen without advocacy—and the power to shape our own narrative lies in our voices and our voices ONLY!
