how to tie spiders | how to fish spiders | best summer flies
A short video showing how to tie spider flies aka north country spiders aka soft hackle wet flies, In the video i have included how to fish spiders/soft hackles on stillwater stocked lakes, I have found these flies very effective from mid june to august fished just below the surface. The best method I have found to fish the black spiders / soft hackles on a stocked stillwater lake is to start stripping them in short sharp burst as they land on the water. I also degrease the leader/tippet to help them sink slighty.
