20 Shots Fired at Peaceful Park in Albuquerque, 1 Wounded
Around 6:30PM, the Albuquerque Police Department received a shots fired call on the westside of the Los Duranes Park located at 2920 Leopoldo Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM. When officers arrived they found the chaotic aftermath of a shooting incident and they started piecing things together. Witnesses told police that they saw teenagers under a gazebo at the park and a short time later they heard over 20 shots fired. There were no gunshot victims located at the park when police originally arrived. A short time later a local hospital called and said they had a patient show up with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg. We observed a few witnesses at the scene with children who were visibly shaken up by the stupidity of the armed teens. Society, has unwillingly accepted the use of firearms to try and resolve sometimes simple problems. We will update this story if anymore information becomes available.
