The Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps is one of the most anticipated events of the season and the final test before the summer break. The Belgian circuit, with its long Kemmel straights and the section leading to the Bus Stop, rewards aerodynamic efficiency, top speed, and power unit energy management. McLaren arrives without the long-awaited "Macarena wing," which was already tested during a filming day but is not yet ready for its race debut. Instead, a software update for the power unit is being introduced, designed to improve battery management reliability during charging and deployment. This won't result in a performance advantage, but it will provide greater reliability on a circuit where every detail can make the difference. Mercedes responds with a significant low-downforce aerodynamic package designed specifically for Spa, Monza, Baku, and Las Vegas, as well as strengthening several components after the issues that emerged at Silverstone. This decision confirms how crucial reliability and continuous development are throughout a season. Ferrari is bringing a small low-downforce package, with modifications to the front flow deflectors and other aerodynamic refinements, while the debut of the new rear wing solutions remains uncertain. However, the SF26 seems destined to continue to struggle in the long, flat-out sections, where super clipping continues to penalize the car. While the fast corners at Silverstone had limited the problem, Spa could accentuate the Ferrari's difficulties in the faster sections, leaving some hope only in the more twisty central section.
