Men Of The Forth Bridge (1930)
The Forth Bridge, Strathclyde, Scotland. Full titles read: "THE MEN OF THE FORTH BRIDGE - Working on a job that never ends - keeping order the great Spans of the mighty Forth Bridge." Good L/S of the massive bridge. The Scottish narrator informs us that the it takes three years to paint the bridge and "50 tonnes of paint to do it." L/S's of workmen climbing up the cantilevers of the bridge. A steam locomotive and train pass beneath them. Several shots of men painting the metal work. L/S of man climbing down rope ladder. Intertitle reads: "Over 350 feet above a wet and watery grave (if you slipped) - day in and out, these High Society Fellows are on the job." L/S of man wearing flat cap hammering one of the metal supports. Another man climbs past him and jokes - "I hope I don't slip !" Note; apparently the Forth Bridge is not actually in Strathclyde, but links Fife with the Lothians by spanning the River Forth.
