Sítio Cercado is a neighborhood located in the Curitiba region. History Laurindo Ferreira de Andrade acquired a farm located south of the city of Curitiba, surrounded by the waters of the Padilha, Cercado, and Boa Vista streams (from this geographical aspect the neighborhood's name arose). These lands served as a resting place for passing cattle drivers. In the 1940s, these lands were divided among Mr. Ferreira de Andrade's family. Laurindo, including Isaac Ferreira da Cruz (currently the name of the neighborhood's main avenue), which they transformed into vegetable, bean, rice, and corn plantations. Beginning in 1946, they were also sold in small subdivisions, with sales intensifying in the 1960s. In 1979, Cohab-CT built the Parigot de Souza, Guaporé, and São João Del'Rey housing complexes, and in 1992, the Bairro Novo subdivision emerged. Main Features and Landmarks The neighborhood was the first in Paraná to receive the Museu da Periferia (MUPE Sítio Cercado, launched in 2011) project, a new concept of social museum, where the local community shares the knowledge and history of the localities through various events and initiatives. Its main thoroughfare is Avenida Izaac Ferreira da Cruz, where the commercial area is located. Another landmark in the neighborhood is "Parque do Semeador," the main leisure and fitness center. Spanning 26,000 m2, it features an outdoor gym and a walking track.
