Later, the residential area of ​​Sítio Cercado was divided into small plots when it was sold. The neighborhood originated when Laurindo Ferreira Andrade owned approximately 180 alqueires of land in the region, which in the early years was dedicated to raising cattle among his family. Around 1945, the owner's children sold half of the land to German milkers in Boqueirão, and in 1952, the remainder was bought by several families, when canvas tents were set up. Only in the 1990s were social housing units implemented, initially with residences intended for low-income families.
