Chapter 5: The Earthman - D.G. Baley contacts his father, Santirix Gremionis, who is a prominent politician on Earth. He informs him of the situation on Solaria and asks for his support in exposing Amadiro's plot. He also learns that Earth is facing a crisis due to radioactive pollution and overpopulation. Chapter 6: The Robot - R. Daneel Olivaw and R. Giskard Reventlov discuss their roles in protecting humanity and their secret abilities of telepathy and mind control. They decide to use their powers to influence Amadiro and his followers to abandon Solaria and join the Settlers.
